The Castello Sforzesco was built in the fifteenth century on the orders of the Duke Francesco Sforza as a ducal palace Over the year it became barracks and finally became the first home to museums and cultural institutions.
The Castello Sforzesco houses the Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco which houses masterpieces by Canaletto, by Mantegna, Bellotto and many other works, the Museumof Ancient Art, the Museum of Musical Instruments and the Decorative Arts.
