ATM Public Transport in Milan - Useful Information

Urban standard ticket is 1.00 €.
One day pass is 3.00 €
Two day pass is 5.50 €

Luggage Ticket : For transport of a single piece of luggage is required an extra ticket 1 €.

Sant'Eustorgio

The Basilica of Sant 'Eustorgio is one of the most important monumental complex of the city, was built in the fifth century by Bishop Eustorgio II, who built on the remains of amuch older building.
According to tradition in 1164, Frederick Barbarossa plundered the church, almost completely destroying it and taking a Roman sarcophagus in which were preserved thebodies of the three Magi.
Inside are frescoes of three-fourth century by Vincenzo Foppa .
From locals adjacent the basilica, you can access to three underground rooms, the remain of  the only Roman and early Christian cemetery found in Milan

Arch of Peace

The Arch is located in the center of the vast Piazza Sempione, it is adjacent to the Park Sempione, the main city park of Milan, which was designed with the explicit intent of providing panoramic views encompassing both the Arch and the nearby Sforza Castle.

The Arch was started in 1807 under the pressure of the town of Milan and of Napoleon.
Only in 1826 was picked up the rebuilding under the Habsburg Emperor Francis I of Austria, who dedicated it to peace which brought together the various European powers.
It was inaugurate September 10, 1838.

Antico Ospedale Maggiore, Cà Granda

Formerly known simply by Milan under the name of Ca 'Granda, was commissioned by Francesco Sforza, who in 1456 decided to bring together in a single institution's many hospitals present in Milano area.

The building is an architectural transition with Gothic and Renaissance styles.
Inside is a courtyard with stately columns and porch on a grand lodge.

It was used as a hospital until 1942 when it was completely destroyed by aerial bombing.
Rebuilt, it is now used as a univerisity, "Università degli studi".

American Donuts

Store offers several american's specialties. Obviously, there are a lot of donuts and muffins, but there are also burgers and hotdogs. It 'a chain, the larger one is located in via Settembrini. Red banquettes and bright plastic white tables the setting of the room.

Here I tried donuts and pancakes covered with maple syrup. Never having been in the states unfortunately i do not have actual benchmarks, but the palate was satisfied

100 Ice Cream Flavors

Gelateria in via Trau  that (as the name implies) offers 100 flavors (and seen some change and / or are added) of ice cream. They range from savory flavors (Wasabi, Taleggio cheese and honey balsamic vinegar, Pesto kind, etc. ...to those spirits (beer ceres Cashews, Orange Cream and Grand Marnier, Pear and almond port) to specialties like the turkish pistachio and cinnamon queen. There is no shortage of course the classic tastes. The choice takes time around the giant bar. The ice cream is well made, the only flaw is that there are no seats. .

Casa di Riposo per Musicisti Giuseppe Verdi

The Retirement Home for Musicians , in italian "Casa di riposo per Musicisti", is a rest home for retired opera singers and musicians in Milan, founded by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi in 1896.

The building is designed in the neo-Gothic style by Italian architect Camillo Boito. 
Both Verdi and his wife, Giuseppina Strepponi are buried there.
